Who are We?
The Central Okanagan Four Pillars Coalition is comprised of a Steering Committee who give direction to the Executive to develop an approach to deal with community issues around substance use and abuse in the Central Okanagan.
The Executive is comprised of the Chairs of the Four Pillars who in turn have working groups to investigate and make recommendations with respect to Enforcement, Prevention/Education, Treatment and Harm Reduction. There are over 80 people from 35 agencies and concerned citizens involved in this community-based organization, all of whom volunteer their time to make the Central Okanagan a better place to live. There is only one person who receives any monetary compensation, and that is our Coordinator/Consultant, who is writing the recommendations and priorities for actions to the Municipal Governments in the Central Okanagan.
We have received funding from the City of Kelowna and the District of Lake Country for this project, and for 10 months received generous donations of coffee from Starbucks for our monthly meetings.
